Single Copying for Teachers
A. A chapter from a book
B. An Article from a periodical or newspaper
C. A short story, short essay or short poem, whether or not from a collective work
d. A chart, graph, diagram, drawing, cartoon or picture from a book, periodical or newspaper.
District Policy states:
Excerpt from a longer work (Up to 10% of a copyrighted work or 1000 words, whichever is less).
Consumables such as workbooks may not be copied.
Teachers may make copies in nine instances per class per term
Copies may be made from only legally acquired originals.

Poems
- Entire Poem if less then 250 words
- 250 words or less if longer poem
- No more then 5 poems (or excerpts) of different poems, from an anthology
- Only 3 poems ( or excerpts ) per poet
Motion Video
- Up to 10% of a copyrighted work or 3 minutes, whichever is less
- Clip cannot be altered in any way
Illustrations
- A photograph or illustration may be used in it's entirety
- No more then 5 images of an artist's or photographers work
- When using a collection no more then 10% or no more then 15 images, whichever is less.
- Up to 10% of a copyrighted musical composition, but no more then 30 seconds
- Up to 10% of a body of sound recording, but no more then 30 seconds
- Any alterations cannot change the basic melody or the fundamental character of the work
